Save the dates

A lot is happening this spring over at FGL and I can finally share some of it.
Not long ago I posted on Instagram how a Saturday in Varberg can look if you come for a vist.

Varberg is a beautiful city located just by the ocean so come for a visit if you get the chance.
Here’s some tips.

  1. Okens BnB in the city center. Owned by my friend Diba and her husband. Such a cute place, with the yummiest of breakfasts! Located right by the train station. Right now there is an offer for February bookings 15% off the price!
  2. Kusthotellet. One of the biggest hotels in Varberg and this is located right by the ocean guys. Perfect for long walks, Spa and dips in the sea.
  3. The market is open Saturdays so the city center is more lively then, flowers local farmers food etc etc.
  4. Kallbadhuset. You can not visit Varberg and miss out on the famous skinny dip’ and sauna. Varbergs finest building for sure. Guaranteed to feel fresh after this visit.
  5. Brukstorget . A MUST visit obviously. FGL Store and many other shops are open between 10-15. There is a big play area for kids. Great restaurant for lunch or ”fika” cause we got two bakery’s.

The reason why I make this list is because I would like you to enjoy Varberg as the typical ”Varberg bo”

On the 15th of Feb FGL invite you to a YOGA & BREAKFAST event.

.Yoga in FGL is so special. It’s an unique experience for sure. I’ll make us a tasty breakfast afterwards as well so it’s a very nice morning together.
Tickets here.

That’s the first weekend I can recommend to visit Varberg.

& if the date doesn’t suite you above – there is another date in March.
Gong concert. A 2 hour gong concert with Bea.
14th of March at this 14.30 -16.00 – come around 14.00 to enjoy some tea before the show starts.

The gong creates a concert of various sound waves that help the body reach a deeper relaxation. The vibrations are curative and neutralize any imbalances at the cellular level.
Cannot wait.

Just love happenings that’s good for your soul.

Next up is: KUSTFOLK.

The past week we’ve been working with our Kustfolk Design Market.
4-5th of April so it’s a while till then but! Save the date.

Make sure you follow us at Kustfolk_Varberg to take part of what’s going on along the way till we meet in April.

All the best,

Mir

Better decisions in 2020

Cheers to making better decisions in 2020?

Let’s talk about clothing for a minute or two here.
For over 6 years I have worked in the apparel industry.
Online alongside a physical store.

From the start, our focus has always been on helping others make conscious choices for their wardrobe. The big milestone for us was when we started to work with family businesses in Jaipur. Hand made clothing, made with love and environmentally friendly.
A process that doesn’t harm our planet or the people who working with our production. Clothing that’s good on your skin.

It feels so weird to even write about that above, how can clothing be poisonous? Is that possible. The more I read up about it, the more scared I got.

FGL Store, is truly special! But let me share how it is, being a small business, fighting against the fast fashion giants. It’s damn hard.

Since buying small quantities – using a weather dependable natural process does make everything more complicated and expensive.
Which is sad, it should be the opposite – we’re doing something good here.
FGL rarely has sales or discounts because simply there is not enough margin for it and don’t want to put more pressure on our team in Jaipur.

The fast-fashion industry has created a mindset of unhealthy expectations and over-consumption that can make it hard for ethical brands to survive.

FGL Clothing is transeasonal. Pieces you wear regardless of the season. Garments that are classic & timeless. That don’t follow trends and are transcendent of seasons.

Since 2013, I’ve seen change in peoples behavior when it comes to consumption. Many people are getting more conscious for sure.
I love hearing how many choose Quality over Quantity. ^
How they only choose Eco friendly made products. It makes my heart sing! Since I’m trying hard to create awareness regarding this matter myself!

  1.  Take Care of the Clothes You Already Own — taking care of the clothes you already own is one of the easiest ways to start building an ethical closet. Hand wash what needs to be hand washed, fold your heavy sweaters rather than hanging them up, replace the button that fell off. Clothes that are well taken care of last longer which means they’ll need to be replaced less often.⁣
  2. Shop Less. Choose well. sustainable clothing — don’t buy clothes that fit, OKAY. Instead be more selective when it comes to shopping and only buy things you 100% love. When you buy things you sorta kinda like you end up with a closet full of so-so stuff you don’t really like and consequently you always have nothing to wear. To fill the void, you shop more and buy more things you don’t really like. It’s a never-ending cycle. Break the cycle by buying quality pieces.⁣
  3.  Buy High Quality Clothes — regardless of the brand, or if you’re buying new or secondhand always buy high quality pieces that will last longer. How do you tell if something is high quality? The three most important things to look at are the fabric, the seams, and the way it’s tailored. The fabric should feel sturdy, comfortable, and evenly woven. The seams should be reinforced, neat, and lay flat against the skin without puckering.⁣
  4. Buy Secondhand — a great, budget friendly way to build an ethical wardrobe is to shop secondhand and vintage.

It’s tough building a fashion brand ESPECIALLY a brand focused on ethical and sustainable business practices.

If we want our favorite brands to stick around we have to support them, that’s why I need your help guys. Please share my post or fglstore.se

Would mean a lot if you could help me reach out to more people.
Tag us in your pictures. Like us on Facebook. Tell your friends about FGL.

I love you all for the support,

Mir

New look over at FGL

It’s the 3rd week in November and we had a shoot outside.
I don’t need to explain how cold it was, but we made it! Mollie was an absolute star who survived in all those photos being barefoot and bare legs.

Kristin just finished all the editing, and right now I’ve been updating our Facebook shop.

FGL has a completely new look, all photos are taken in Varberg, we’ve been using different models and even had a different photographer cause it’s usually Kritin or me.
The newest members in FGL collection are the beige lounge shirt and the bird robe. They are both incredibly gifts for yourself or someone you love this Christmas .

The lounge shirt is lovely with jeans open or closed. Our match it with our blooming pants and feel cozy at home.

Thanks to Mollie, Merry, Johanna, Ellen, Fideli, Kristin, Therese, Jenny and Jake for these days! You guys are great.

Now I’m gonna sort out the winner in the competition we had the other day. 2 lucky couples will be drawn – and get notified latest tomorrow.
Thanks for joining in guys.

Till next time. xx
