Things to look forward to

Hi team,

Just thought I make a quick update about what’s going on in Lovely FGL Store right now.

-Today our campaign ends – on our most sold dresses. Worth checking out.

If you thinking about christmas gifts already I know a workshop with Lisa Burenius would be a great experience to give someone you love. That includes yourself as well!
A creative afternoon together with us in FGL, you get to paint without no rules. If you think of it, we as grown ups never do stuff where it’s ok to just let go of all expectasions.

Lisa guides you through how to become a artist. It’s something special when you can be creative,
just be yourself and go with the flow. Such an inspiring afternoon together.

We have had this work shop for four occassions and it has given me so much joy each time.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR CREATIVE HEALTH –

Another thing I want to share with you is our Utbildningsdag, a day full of insights.

Kristin and I share our story on how we built our buisness together. 5 years as we speak.
We started out as a pop up shop just before christmas in 2013. But it sure has been more than a pop up.

We have invited lecturer Emma Gunnarsson from Finnveden Säljkraft,
Emma Gunnarsson is an inspiring and great lecturer who will tell you about the different personality types found in society.
She gives knowledge and lots of energy and makes you  think about how you can handle different personality types. Emma also works as a moderator throughout the day.

Hanna Wendelbo is a designer with special expertise in pattern design, she will share how she works and she has a lot of experience from years back, “high and lows” and how to became better in what you do.

We will have plenty of time for smaller and larger discussion groups, work around specific topics and by the end of the day we will have a dinner together. I’ll promise you won’t regret this day, it’s so for filling, many of us in this industry work mostly on our own – get together with likeminded souls is so good.

If you work with social media today and want to join us for this day – press here. Few spots left!

Now it’s time for a Sunday in the sunshine. Enjoy!

November already

Can’t believe how fast the months passes by nowadays, getting closer and closer to our due date.
Still got a lot of things to get ready I think? If you could get ready thou?

My week started out pretty fantastic. Press release off the new brand Alvalinen.

We had a breakfast together in Palmhuset and listened to Dibella who come all the way from Bangalore, India. He’s a CEO of a big factory who works with Organic cotton.

He gave us an insight into indian cotton industry. It’s deeply sadening, but very important.
I enjoy hearing the story behind the brand. Their values are important to me. We shared it all. Kristin & I work in the same way and driven by making a change for people .

The styling behind these pictures is Charlotte Ryding & Anna Furbacken.

Over to my Tuesday.

Spent my day at FGL store. Always a pleasure.
Tuesday todo: release day on our newest member – Polka dot shirt so now there’s a whole set.
Skirt, duster & shirt. Amazing all together.

When I sit to much by the computer my stomache aches.
So last night I was resting a lot on the floor. The perks of being pregnant.

I’m getting deeper into my pregnancy, so Wednesday was a day of relaxation.
Found old pictures and realized I look a lot like my mom when she was pregnant with me.

Thursday – Was lucky to be out all day in the sunshine.

Watching our new doves being outdoors in the wild for the first time . They are so stunning and funny.

Thursdays are always extra special nowadays cause baby goes into a new week. Welcome 35!

I finally got my girls up again.  Two from Lisa & one piece from Jenny.

Friday .
This morning it was breathwork and breakfast at Holdits office. What a start on a Friday!
A special thanks to Michelle who made us the honor with a yoga Nidra.

Lisa & Kristin.

I’ve been an ambassador for Holdit for a while and wanted to show my friends Varbergs finest office space. A get together over a breakfast with likeminded souls are always fun! You always leave the table with new insights and ideas.

It must be something with Varberg and all creative minds in the city.
So many succesful buisnesses in one place. Lucky to call many of them my friends.
Holdits office is having a fantastic view overlooking the harbour.

just after our morning I went to FGL store to met up with a girl for an interview. We need some help in the shop the next couple of months . So fingers crossed we find someone special .

Before this work week ends I have one more shift to do. FGL between 11-15 o’clock.
Don’t miss out on our campaign right now 20% Off on our dresses.
Ends tomorrow night.
xx

the process

At FGL Store we work towards being as sustainable as we can.
We strive to create a long lasting wardrobe.
Our garments are developed with a family business in Jaipur, India.
They work with small-scale production and with a unique technique, dabu printing – where they use clay and wood blocks to print patterns on fabrics.

Patterns are carved out of wooden blocks that are dipped in the mud and then pressed on the fabric.

The printing process:

Each family has its own prescription of clay used for printing and the ingredients are clay mud, limestone, mimosa tree, wheat and grain mud. It is Dafu Devi who works with our fabric in the picture above.
After pressure, sawdust is poured over the pattern so that the pressure does not smuch.

After the printing process, the fabric may dry out in the sun before it gets dipped in color.

We’re working with Indigo – from the flower Indigo.
The fabric is knocked against the stone hills for the clay to let go and for the fabric to be clean. Then it is dried again.
The process ends with the fabric being boiled in a large copper pan in a bath of alum and dried flowers for softness and color strength.
Then it is once again dried in the wind and sun. Minimal environmental impact. It’s incredibly much work and proud little family companies behind this shirt.

And now we are extra happy when wearing our shirts and skirt that’s printed and dyed with the same procedure.

All garments are sewn by hand and are made in small collections with a durable thought behind them, contrary to “fast fashion”.

What they are working with in the pictures above, is what I’m wearing today.
Polka Duster, Polka skirt . Just released in our store.
Polka shirt will be in our shop by Tuesday.

No two textiles are exactly alike. All garments are made at purposely slow pace.
Production time purely depends on our beautiful mother nature.

Thanks for chosing FGL clothing. It means a lot to us.

FGL Lecture day

8th of October.
A day full with creative ladies, power and knowledge.

For quite some time, we’ve been talking about how there is a ‘hole in the industry’ when it comes to an inspirational day or more like an educational day for influencers.

Often we meet for different occasions, usually dinners, promotion of products and so on and so on.
Many times there are the same questions coming up, but there’s never enough time to go through them all.

So the 8th of October;
-Educational day for influencers happened at FGL Store.

Kristin & I put together few topics that we wanted to bring up.
Our dear friend was moderating the whole day, cannot thank her enough for her brilliant expertise.
Our day started with Emma sharing her knowledge on Disc analysis. A theory that comes from William Moulton Marston back in the 1930’s. Emma is, by the way, so great at speaking in public – such an entertainer. You can book her at Finnvedens säljkraft.

Everyone has different behaviour styles. Knowing and understanding peoples different behaviour styles creates a more corporate climate. It also provides a greater self-awareness  and communication easier.
Using this knowledge is good for anyone, both private and in work.

Before we sat down we’ve chosen 3 cards each – 2 cards that described you well and 1 that didn’t.
Next up was: Diana Dontsova – Diadonna.

Winner of the big food blog award price 2017. She always amazes me with her beautiful pictures and mind blowing recipes. She is very spot on and has seemingly endless knowledge when it comes to her business and how to build up your brand in social media. Diana is also a blogger at Feminina.

HannaHanna Wendelbo.

This inspiring multi talented woman creates patterns like no one else.
Always sharing flower bouquets in her feed and Hanna designs the most beautiful wall papers.
Her multi talent inspires many, she’s one of a kind!  When she was 7 years she dreamt of becoming a clothing designer – few years later her dream came true, she’s now created the pattern for the new brand Soie Belle.

Two very inspiring woman with a lot of compentense in this industry -Thanks for making our day extra special.

The schedule was busy from start till finish.
Never ending conversation throughout the night – We could kept going till the morning I think.

We agreed that this event has to happen soon again it was truly a success.
Keep your eyes out for new dates.

Thanks for joining in: Daniella Witte, Lisa Burenius, Jennie Blomkvist, Marina Evertsson, Anna Norrman,
Diana, Hanna, Marlene Agemo, Helena Lyth, EmmaMalin Persson .
So happy spending time with you all. A very grateful heart.
