C h r i s t m a s 2018

Kristin came by for a fika on the 23rd.
I think everyday for the past weeks I get a text a day from her saying,
-How are you feeling today any contractions ?
Thanks love for your support.

I showed her our doves and the hens, she havn’t been in our house in agees.
Think we need to have some office hours here in the next year or simply more fika.

I got a gift, opened it yesterday morning,
I’ll show what it was when we’re back from the hospital.

Best wishes for you and your family this Christmas, we’re expecting our special gift very shortly.

Happy holidays!

Welcome to Lyckan Christmas edition. This year I was ready by the 1st of December, just in case baby Fletcher would decide to show up.
Nothing yet though, but we’re ready. Gonna share some photos from my day – morning till night.

My newest edition of prints. Ångestfjäril by Lisalove. She’s one of a kind.
I love her art.

Just bought a few more decorations for our tree. It’s busier now, you’ll notice on the picture further down.

Love my little ‘Lucia kör’ made by Marie, my dear friend.

& she has made this ceramic bowl too – eggshell it’s called. Made to order if you would wanting this in your own home.
Check her shop out right here.

Porridge is my everyday breakfast, sometimes lunch, sometimes snack, sometimes all the time!

& then the light faded away…

It’s not what’s under the Christmas tree that matters
– it’s who’s around it.

Merry christmas
from
me
to
you.

Lyckan Home

Hello & welcome to us.
Jake & the girls house in Bua. ( Girls meaning 6 hens and 3 doves and I )

Soon a new family member joining us. December 12th I believe, somewhere around that date anyway.
Trying to get our house sorted in time before our lil’ boy is born.
Hall way got new curtains and we moved our wardrobe as well.
Due to the baby’s crib in our bedroom.

At least there’s a bed, but I think baby will be between us right? Lights and a whale mobile will come up soon. Perhaps a grey canopy .

Hanna Wendelbo’s print sisterhood mandala on the left  and Lisa Burenius art work is next to Hanna’s piece .
It looks like it’s a pink horizon with a pink whale in the water – can you see it what I see ?

The octopus was a gift from three girls up north – Thank you so much – a pressie when FGL celebrated 1 year. So thoughtful.

Our pink love seat is the favourite in this house. A big print by Lisalove will soon go up on this wall to.
Always hard to snap a photo from this corner – there’s so much light..

I think our kitchen could be our top spot. 5 meters height to the ceiling it gives a spaceious feel.

I’m wearing our polka dot duster it’s from our newest collection .
Did you read my update about the whole process? If not, you find it here.

Many people always ask where we bought our kitchen table.
It’s a blocket find since years back. My best tip to find lovely old things is to visit blocket daily.

Blocket is good for finding prints and cabinets too.

The two ladies in the picture above is made by talented Lisalove.se

I havn’t open my little gift from Hanna Wendelbo, the box was so beautiful so I kept on my drawer.

The bedroom upstairs with the flower wallpaper – carnation garden from Boråstapeter. We covered our ceiling and walls with it. So nice.

On the other end of the loft is a bed covered in baby clothes. Think I bought two bodies out of all ..

My gran knitted pieces are the cutest of them .

Jake & I spent few days to clay these walls in here. Not the most exciting job – good result. Looks like concrete. I can highly recommend clay walls in a bathroom, gives it a complete different feel compared to tiles top to toe.

this was all for now I think.
A little glimpsie from our home.

OUR HOUSE

Welcome to our house, Lyckan.
20 minutes north of Varberg, located in Bua harbour.
Stones throw from the water front. Summer brings with it her long days and warm swims in the ocean. Very lucky to have beautiful bathing spots so close to home.

This is our new entrance which we built ourselves last summer, an extension of the original house.

The kitchen is mine and my IG followers ‘favourite place’ of the house. It’s spacious and open.

The kitchen comes from Ikea. Really easy to design it yourself. With a black kitchen you will see if it’s dusty! I can assure you, but I still like it a lot.

We’ve also chosen Ikea’s oven with a gas top. Cooking with gas is so handy… instant heat!

Table and chairs are vintage. The ladies below were found in Fair Fax market couple of weeks ago back in LA. Tiny vases from the 1930. I thought they were cute.

Frames and pictures are old vintage finds too, and the ‘byrå’ was a gift from the lady who owned this house before us.

The stairs lead to the loft and our second bedroom. So happy how the loft space, which wasn’t used before the renovation, turned out. Building and designing around an old 1850’s house has its head aches but also comes with its rewards, through its unique details.

the other week

Last week we had so much snow. Bua village was a winter wonder land, but the snow never lasts down south, only takes few days and it’s all gone.

I had to share these pictures because today it’s foggy and grey. So gloomy and boring.

Even I enjoy the snow when it’s this much. It happens once a year for 48h approx..
Our hens stayed inside for two long days, refused to go out. Too cold!

When it was snowing the most I was inside sending pictures over WhatsApp to our vendor in India. Right now FGL’s very busy getting everything ordered in time before the high season. Our collection takes a long time to produce due to the natural processes.

I can tell you there’re many photos shared between us, colour approvals, small detail changes like pockets being smaller or frills to a skirt or simple adjustments.

Small things make a huge difference in the end.  Thank god for wifi, WhatsApp, emails & FaceTime.
